Here we drill down on the narrative clients bring initially and how part of our role is to help them see their role in their marriage with greater complexity. This complexity is interactional, not just with regards the internal feelings they may have thoroughly processed in prior individual therapy. The difference is huge.  Some people use therapy to become good at only at EQ (emotional intelligence) but emerge not much further along at RQ (relational intelligence) as well as systemic intelligence (SQ). The Doherty Approach is all about helping clients see themselves as co-creators of larger stories in their lives, as both actors and reactors.
